After studying a Diploma in Performance & Excellence in Gloucestershire, I quickly realised I needed to get out of the student lifestyle & into the real world. Making a decision on where I wanted my future to take me wasn’t easy whatsoever. After trying my hand at various roles & positions within the building trade, private ambulance service & roadwork sectors I found myself unhappy & deflated. I stumbled across the marketing industry after applying for an advert online & I quickly found a passion for the atmosphere, the people & the opportunity to work for myself. The rest is history & we are looking forward to what the future brings. I’m excited for more & more ambitious people to experience the true power of our business moving forward.
I love the fact that I am one of the older members of the team. Having been in the police force for 12 years I have vast experience of dealing with people. I also have the experience of running my own business so I can appreciate that the business model & opportunities afforded to anyone joining the organisation are unparalleled. The only way to fail within the business is to give up. The atmosphere within the office is energising & the support you receive at all levels is consistent. Having worked in retail for a long time & eventually progressing through to junior management, I quickly realised there was very much a glass ceiling in effect. I've now been able to progress & develop, personally & in business terms, more so than ever before, simply by developing a growth mindset & having a clear goal.
I first joined this business after I graduated from university in 2009. I started in the sales programme where I developed incredible people skills & English as a language itself (being Portuguese, there was a bit of a barrier). The friendly & family like atmosphere was wonderful & I soon realised I wanted to be part of this growing industry & I could build my career here. After 9 months on the sales programme I was given the opportunity to join our new location in Cardiff as part of the admin team & it was an amazing experience! Once I relocated back to Colchester I was flown to a few of our locations abroad (namely, Sweden & New York) in order to further develop my skills & be actively involved in training & supporting other administrators. I have now been here for 7 years & have had the pleasure of seeing & being part of numerous individuals advancing through their development journey onto running their own businesses. It still amazes me the pool of opportunities this industry brings. Seeing individuals, with no previous experience, join us & watching them blossom into these amazing & confident business men & women is a pretty incredible process to witness & it’s truly life changing!
Prior to this role I was waitressing for 3 years. I have always been a people person & have enjoyed interacting with customers. When I started at Precision in December 2015, the environment was what caught me & kept me here long enough to fall in love with the industry as a whole. Everyone is so positive & friendly & they immediately made me feel part of this big family. I have learnt completely new skills & have had so much support along the way. I have even been awarded a trip to Dubai for all the hard work I have put in so far! I am so excited to be part of this growing business & looking forward to helping expand it to our full potential.
